Bored Ape valuation

What is your
Bored Ape worth?

Two Bored Apes can have very different prices. ApePredictor estimates what each one is worth using its traits and sales data, then shows a range around that estimate. Use it to check a seller's asking price or review an Ape you already own.

Floor price, asking price, and estimated value

When you look up an Ape, you'll often see several prices. The floor is the lowest ask across tracked BAYC listings. The asking price belongs to that Ape's seller. ApePredictor's estimated fair value is what the model thinks the individual Ape is worth. The eventual sale price depends on what a buyer and seller agree.

What to look for on an Ape page

Each member Ape page shows a valuation and a range around it, alongside the Ape's traits and sales history. Start by checking when it last sold. A price paid in a much stronger market may tell you little about what someone would pay today. Sales of similar Apes can give you a more useful comparison.

Check how many comparable sales there are and when they happened. One similar-looking Ape is a thin basis for a price estimate, especially if its trait combination rarely trades. A wider model range means more uncertainty about value. It says nothing about how long a sale might take.

The trait-pricing guide explains why rarity and market premiums are different.

How to check a Bored Ape valuation

  1. Open the exact Ape ID

Use the number from the original Bored Ape Yacht Club collection. An ID on another collection refers to a different asset.

  2. Compare the ask with the range

Consider both the central estimate and its uncertainty. Check that the listing and estimate are recent enough for your comparison.

  3. Review the sales behind the comparison

Read the Ape's sales history and compare it with similar Apes. If an entry is a transfer with no recorded price, don't count it as a purchase for zero ETH.

  4. Check the model's record

The public performance page shows how predictions made before sales compared with the prices buyers paid. Check how many sales are included and the period they cover.

Bored Ape valuation questions

Is a valuation the same as a rarity rank?

No. A rarity rank measures how unusual an Ape's traits are. A valuation estimates its price. Equally rare traits can command different prices, and some combinations appeal to buyers more than others.

Can I see an estimate without buying the Ape?

Yes. Members can look up an Ape whether or not they own it. These guides and the public performance page are free to read.

Does a below-estimate listing guarantee profit?

No. The model can be wrong. A listing can also change before you act, and buying below an estimate doesn't ensure you'll find a buyer at that estimate. Allow for transaction costs and the time you might need to hold the Ape.
